Projects
Student projects are a key part of the ANU McCusker Institute’s work. Our projects engage students and cover a wide range of topics related to social impact, community engagement, and research. Students can also propose their own projects, and we encourage students to get involved in projects that create change in their communities.
If you would like to propose a project, please get in touch.
Community Projects
Work alongside community organisations to address real challenges. These projects connect students with external partners on issues ranging from social services and environmental action to policy and advocacy.
Campus Projects
Make a difference within the ANU community. Campus projects tackle challenges and opportunities on our doorstep — from student wellbeing and campus sustainability to improving systems and services that affect everyday student experience.
SoCIETIE Projects
Projects designed and led by the McCusker Institute’s SoCIETIE Initiative. This project is undertaken in the course and will bring together interdisciplinary teams of students to explore complex social challenges through structured coursework and hands-on collaboration.
Student Initiatives
Student-led projects born from personal passion and drive. Whether through a residential college, student club, or independent effort, these initiatives are created and run by students making change in their communities.
Do you have your own project?
Are you a student creating change in your community through your residential college, student club, or other initiative? We’d love to work with you through the SoCIETIE Initiative for-credit course to support the time and effort you are putting into your project. Get in touch to find out how we can support you and your project!
Don’t have a project but want to get involved?
During the smester-based courses, we will often have opportunities for students to get involved in projects that are being run by our partners and other students. Come to class, and get involved in the projects that interest you!
